Elliots Expose

Elliot’s Expose

When Elliot writes about his experience with the Jock Rots and sends it out over the KidNet, he includes the following quote in his letter.

"I think people ought to realize that stuff like this goes on every day…The rest of you are all part of it-because you let it go on and maybe you think it's funny, or you think it only happens to geeky outsiders and kids who are smaller or fatter or skinnier or don't have so many friends or so much money as you. So tell me-what happens when you don't have so many friends one day, or you don't have so much money, or something bad happens to you?" (91-92)

Blog Question:
What is the message is he trying to get across to his classmates?

I think what Elliot's message is basically: when someone gets bullied and you see it and dont do anything about it and just let the bully keep bullying, you should think about how you would feel if you were in the place of the victim. Elliot's message is a big one because Elliot went through a lot of pain which none of the kids have. For example, he has been thrown of the bridge in pg.59. Elliot realizes no one understands him so with the help of Russel and Catalina they get stories posted through out Kidnet. We should try to stop bullying because if we don't we don't people will feel like how Elliot is feeling.

Andrew I agree with a lot of this post, and you had many strong points such as the one about how you should always think from the victims shoes in a bullying incident. However, as shown on KidNet Elliot is not the only student that is repeatedly bullied. He might be the most picked on but the students probably do understand him somewhat. Besides that statement and a few typos you had a powerful answet to this question.

Good. I totally agree here. Because even if you are just a person who's walking by and you don't do anything about it, you're part of it.
